cervix check

I have read in several different places that after having your cervix checked that you can have contractions and what not. well I had my appointment on Friday around 1:30 and got my cervix checked for the first time. I was dialated to a 1 and 50% effaced. since then I have been so unbelievably uncomfortable. I've been extremely achy in my lower back and I've had contractions that are very strong but they are not consistent. I also lost pieces of what I believe was my mucus plug. not 100% sure but from the advice and what I read that is what it seems like. anyway my daughter is always extremely active during the day and never at night. well last night I woke up from contractions several times and she was more active than I've ever noticed. do you guys think I should just wait it out or should I call my doctor? I am 36 weeks
