Birth Control

I don't want to sound silly or like I'm unaware of how things work but I have a question that I would love some reassurance for. So I've been talking birth control since May of this year. This past month and a half I've been very consistent on taking it every day. Whenever my boyfriend and I have sex we always use a condom because we both like the extra security. Well last night we decided to have sex without a condom and he also came inside me. My real question is, is it okay for him to have came inside me because I am on birth control so I wouldn't get pregnant? I know there's the slight chance I can get pregnant because its not 100% effective but still its okay that he did right? Thats what birth control is for?
