Have you tried? Pros/cons?

I had one and used it often. I always found the heartbeat after about 11 weeks or so. I found that using an oil instead of the jelly stuff worked way better.

I just had my 10 week check up and my own Dr of 30 years couldn't even find the heartbeat with his professional grade doppler (ultrasound was fine). I bought one last pregnancy after having had a previous missed miscarriage and it was hard to distinguish my heartbeat from baby's, if we couldn't find it I would worry.

pros - listening to babies heartbeat. cons - can be distressing when heartbeat can't be found/ can't be used to diagnose anything.
