Does midwife start checking dialation?

At what point were you checked? I'm 36w 3d and my next appt is Friday. She hasn't checked me yet. Normal?

Checks are totally optional and don't actually tell you if labor is near so some providers don't do them unless you ask. My midwife hasn't offered and I haven't asked because I don't want to be checked.

I'm the same day and same appointment lol she said she will check me this Friday and also do a swab test for GBS :)

I asked myself be today. She said they check at 36 and then again at 40 unless you ask them to check in between.

My mom is a midwife and she doesn't check until you start showing signs of labor.

My midwife normally doesn't check until 40 weeks, but i'm kind of a special case because of the problems ive had so she started early for me

I asked my midwife when and if they'll check.  She said they will starting at 39 weeks and offer a membrane sweep then too
