Presents for two year old boy?

My son (only child) is turning two in November and then Christmas is right around the corner. How do you guys handle this at 2? What would be the "big gift" from Santa or would you even do one? A little help from some experienced parents would be great! Thanks!

dollar store...  at 2, they really wont know too much difference... its really your choice which one you wanna do the big gift at... dont overthink it, because at 2 yrs old, your child certainly wont.   i promise😆😆😆

I got my son one medium gift for his birthday (December 2nd) and then I got him a bigger gift and a smaller gift for Christmas

We have the same situation. My boy's birthday is Nov 21, then Christmas a month later. This year he is turning 3. We shop for both starting in August just to spread out the cash crunch. We also try to do smaller, less expensive stuff or necessaries like clothes at his birthday and then the fun big toys at Christmas. We also do one big present from Santa that is opened and set up for when we get downstairs in the morning. It helps keep him occupied while we get settled and hand out all the presents. Also, Christmas Eve has its own tradition of opening 1 present which is pajamas that you go to bed in and wear all Christmas Day! Last year we gave him too much for a 2 year old... He got overwhelmed so quickly. But the thing he loved that he got was a toddler sized table and chairs set. He eats breakfast at it every morning with his stuffed animal.
