Is wearing a white poppy offensive?

In the U.K it's remembrance day soon and this the annual debate about wearing a poppy. Recently people have been wearing white poppies as this symbolises peace. Instead of your normal red poppy which is sold by the British legion. Critics of the British Legion have said that the British Legion accepts sponsorship from arms dealers and tends to glorify war.

I wouldn’t say ~offensive~ but I wouldn’t wear one. We wear red poppies in Canada too but I’ve never seen anyone wear a white/any other coloured poppy here. IMO its about remembrance and the red poppy has a specific meaning. A white poppy for peace is a nice enough idea but doesn’t seem necessary or relevant to remembering those who have already died.

There are actually a few different colours red for remembrance of everyone who has fought in a war and hope. White is for peace. And Purple is for all the animals used and dying in human conflicts. They can be worn individually or altogether, or any combination of what you support.

I guess it depends on why you wear a red poppy? Is it because you yourself are glorifying war? Or because you are expressing gratitude for those killed so you can have your rights. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I see no issue with it. 
I remember last year the Canadian Legion got all up in arms over people making their own poppies while still donating. I make an wear my own because the legion ones are not safe to wear at work. This way I can still wear one and it is on my headband. 
Also looks like this year I am making and wearing a purple one.
