My 9 year old stepson always has some kind of issue at school. Kindergarten was the only grade he was good. He’s in 3rd grade and every year it’s always something. I feel like he doesn’t thrive in the school system we have but I don’t know what else to do. I know his birth mom was always in trouble in school so I don’t know how much of this is genetic or what. Dad and I are tired of hearing from the teacher. I’m always like what did he do this time?! He has no privileges as they are always taken away so there is nothing left to take away. The school doesn’t seem to know what else to do discipline wise. They keep trying stuff but I feel like it falls on deaf ears with him. Any suggestions? He’s a smart kid so he’s doing decent academically (thank goodness he gets that from Dad).
