It’s important for you that your children believe in Christmas?

I love Christmas, I love buying gifts for my kids, I love to make my daughter believe that Santa 🎅 exists. She is 5 Years old & every Christmas she gets sooooo happy because Santa is coming. Do you think it’s important that kids believe in Santa? Do you celebrate Christmas?

Being Hispanic, we try to get our kids to believe in the 3 Kings, not so much Santa. We try to keep the meaning of Christmas around Jesus' birth.

The ancient religious roots of the Christmas time and spirit are actually Pagan. Yule is the Winter Solstice, December 21st (celebrated and sacred LONG before Jesus) which is when the spiritual rebirth of the Horned God was celebrated, the return of the light and the season of the Crone aspect of the Great Goddess. Modern day Christmas rituals pale in comparison and are so far removed from seasonal celebration that in order for me to enjoy this time of year with family members that don't believe the same as I do I choose to focus on spoiling them, giving, cooking, cleaning, spending time. I love to make homemade gifts that they ooh and ahh over. Showing love and celebrating togetherness is what is important to me and what I try to instill in my nieces, nephews and step children.

In my family the true meaning of Christmas is more important. We’re Catholic so it’s important that our kids understand the Christian background, etc. But we still love Santa in our house. My boys are 5 and 3 and love Santa. We do all the fun Santa stuff like cookies and carrots on Christmas Eve. They love it and get so excited about Santa. I’ll be really sad when they stop believing. I see no issues with Santa unless he gets in the way of God, which with kids so young they’re still way more excited about gifts than the story of Christmas but they love helping by their sibling’s presents and they help at our church functions so I’ll take that for now!

No my son knows Santa is just a outfit and made up and that we don't celebrate it and knows the orgin of it I'm not raising my kid to believe a fat guy in a red suit comes down the chimney we don't have  and leaves them gifts

Lol also I’m Mexican and I didn’t grow up believing in santa I grew up believing in the 3 magi. 
So my son has best of both worlds where we will celebrate Christmas and the 3 magi. And then his birth 😂.

Wait Santa’s not real? What??? Jk. 😂 Yes as long as they will let you! It stinks I’ve heard so many parents complain about how their child found out Santa isn’t real from the other kids at school. My daughter will be 5 in April so I’m trying to keep her believing in Santa as long as she’ll let me. 😂 Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday!

I want my kid to believe in Santa, my husband doesn't want to lie...but I think it's magical and just have a few gifts from Santa and the rest from us? I think a lot of magic beliefs should be believed when a kid, it makes things more exciting and innocent. Like fairy stones and other little things :) I grew out of it naturally as a kid but still love Christmas
