How’d you ask? Was it hard? Did it break his heart? Why did you want a divorce?

4. Why did I do it? BECAUSE we were so intellectually incompatible, I could not stand his ignorance and stupidity anymore.. I just couldn't take one more day!

Ended my marriage after being with him for 6 1/2 years (married for 1 1/2) because I wasn’t worth it to him anymore. The only good I was to him was physical attention. There was no love. He was always cheating (talking/flirting with other girls and sex only a few times), and I just simply fell out of love with him. I couldn’t forgive him for the pain and hurt he caused me all those years. He was manipulative and a diagnosed psychopath that destroyed me mentally and emotionally over that almost 7 years.

There is no such thing as perfect only perfect to you - if he is not perfect to you and you aren’t happy then you should end it. I would make sure it is not a phase though - I have known a couple of people who have ended marriages for this sort of reason and then deeply regretted it when they realise the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side !
