Do you avoid people if you know they have been sick with the stomach flu? 😷

Also known as the Rotavirus or stomach bug. According to my research you are contagious before and for 3 days to two weeks after you have it.

Back story (not necessary for poll)

My MIL is staying with my SIL for a week because she had knee surgery. During this time all three of SIL’s girls came down with the stomach virus. MIL text my husband Saturday night and asked if we would come over for Sunday dinner after church. My husband called her to politely explain that we wouldn’t this time since they had all been so recently sick. (I am 6 months pregnant and we have two kids so we are doing our best to avoid it.)

My MIL and the three girls all came to church the next day and MIL came up and sat on the bench with us. I didn’t allow my kids to go over and hug her as usual. I had my daughter on my lap and told her to wave at Nana and say hi. Well it hurt her feelings and she cried all through church and made a bit of a scene leaving. My SIL sent my husband a nasty text about how horrible we both are for treating her mother that way. It blow up into a huge deal. All because we are trying to avoid this highly contagious virus. 😩
