Teacher "punished"autistic child

Ju

So yesterday was the last full day of school before Christmas break. Today and tomorrow the children get out of school at 1:00 p.m. and then they are out for Christmas break. Only 7 students showed up to my brothers science class. The science teacher "punished" the children for showing up to class (very few students show up the last week before break so they don't like for the students to come to school), these are 12 and 13 year olds mind you, by making them sit criss cross on the cold tile floor and face the wall with their hands in their laps for the whole class period. They were not allowed to move, speak, or touch any of their belongings. My brother is autistic, he has Aspergers syndrome. It is a mild form of autism, but autism nonetheless. He had a meltdown at school because of the situation. He didn't understand why he was being punished or What he did wrong. My brother is the type of person who absolutely HAS to tell you his every thought, otherwise he has a meltdown. The teacher would not allow him to ask What he did wrong and why he was being "punished". My mother isn't even taking him to school tomorrow. She contacted the principal and the principal said she would have a talk with the teacher. I don't think that's good enough. I fully believe the teacher should speak one on one with My brother and apologize to him. Any advice? UPDATE**** I talked to my mother and she has been in touch with the principal. Evidently the teacher had told them if they showed up the last few days before Break they would be punished. The other children have been spoken to aswell. So far the teacher has emailed an apology to My brother and the principal assured us the teacher will be punished. If something can't be worked out (the principal is mad, she doesn't know how to punish him yet) the superintendent will be getting involved and the teacher may lose his job. I'm honestly not sure what I want done to this teacher other than to make him sit in the Hallway and stare at the wall the first day back to school while all the students walk to class. ADDDED INFO** She emailed the teacher and he emailed back. She called him and he defended himself and got ugly with my mother. She got ugly back. Yadaya. He says, "I didn't single *brother* out, all the kids got punished. I should have handled the situation differently." She said, "What situation? You punished these kids simply for showing up to school and you traumatized my autistic child!" Needless to say it got heated. He finally sent an apology email to my brother but nobody thinks that is good enough. Basically the principal is waiting to negotiate something to fix this. It's not like she can suspend him right now, they are on break. They may go to the superintendent but he will most likely lose his job, because the superintendent was my principal through high school and very involved in our physics projects aswell as being my little sisters principal as well. I hate to pull that card but if it goes to the superintendent he's probably jobless. And I'm so so so so sorry for my grammar and mistakes in this post. NOTE **** I DO NOT WANT THIS TEACHER FIRED.. I want it solved differently, I really just want him taken out of that teachers class.
