Who’s wrong in this situation?

My boyfriend asked me to go with him to play dominoes over at his friends house. His friends gf was there along with another couple who was also there who’s also his friends. I didn’t want to go because I don’t really socialize with his friends and I would feel kind of awkward being there. I told him i didn’t want to go & he threw a fit which ended up in an argument & he broke up with me. Am I wrong for not wanting to be around his friends?

Seems like it was a triple date. He was probably really hurt you didn't want to go. It is a bit extreme to break up over it. Is it common for you to not want to be around his friends or do things he likes? That could explain the reaction, if he feels like you don't want to go with him or do things with him too often.

Sounds like a dumb thing to break up with someone over but it’s obviously not just because you didn’t go this time. You don’t want to hang out with his friends and he wants a girlfriend to live his life WITH so he doesn’t see a future with someone who doesn’t like his friends.

He overreacted but here’s the thing; I HATED my husbands friends. We all went to high school together and they were all athletic and popular and douchey (except my DH 😜). I was definitely not any of those things and I’m a major introvert. My husband has always understood who I am as a person (thankfully) and didn’t ask me to do things with his friends unless it was important to him. And so if he did ask, I sucked it up and went. 🤷‍♀️ He always took care of me when we did go to things with them because he understood how uncomfortable it made me and that I wasn’t particularly fond of them. Now that we haven’t been in high school for almost five years, he only talks to a few of those guys still and I have become friends with those select few. They were even in our wedding. 
Relationships are about compromise and in this instance, neither of you compromised in the slightest. If you’re going to get back together and make it work y’all need to have a serious conversation about how much y’all mean to each other and your relationships with each other’s friends.

You're allowed to not want to do something. and for him to not be understanding & to break up with you over it just shows you how much he values you.
