Working with family

Does working with family contribute to toxic family relationships?

I’ve heard too many stories where working with a family member goes wrong.

The most recent being my partner.

He’s an apprentice spray painter at his dads panel beating shop. He still lives at home and pays $50 rent per week.

The job market isn’t doing well in Western Australia, and as a result they haven’t been getting much work. Last week was particularly bad, and his parents decided to save money by not paying him. They paid the other employees.

He had a huge fight with his mum (she’s in charge of the accounts & pay), but all was resolved and he got paid a few days later, yet he hasn’t forgiven them.
