Need help and don’t know what to do.😣

So my boyfriend and I been dating for a while now and I don’t see us ending anytime soon. So before we had sex, we had a big conversation about it. We usually switch it up now and then using a condom or not using one. Because it’s really hard for us to stay in the mood with a condom on. So a week ago he wasn’t feeling too well. He went to the hospital and found out that he was positive for herpes type 2. He ended up telling me last Friday. So it kind of shocked me because I know I was clean before we got together. Although he had to have the herpes before me but he just didn’t know he had it. Every time we had sex he never had a outbreak.He was scared to tell me because he didn’t want me to leave him or think he was cheating. We ended up talking about it, because now I don’t know what to do because I know for sure I have to have it if we done had unprotected sex. So I’m scared, nervous and confused. Should I stay with him after this ? I’m even scared to tell my family. I haven’t went to the doctors yet neither. Idk I need a women’s perspective. I’m lost
