Please don't judge me...

Ok, so about a year ago my husband had to go stay the night with his sick grandpa not knowing he had bed bugs... about a week later I found one in my bed and killed it. I treated my bed and my house and never seen another one but that ONE. Recently my husband has been breaking out and I thought it was stress related... didn't think anything of it... Tonight I was laying on bed reading when one started crawling down my arm!! I inspected my bed and I have an infestation and I'm guessing it stems from that ONE I thought was lone. I don't know what to do... What are some effective ways of treating bed BUGS? I cannot afford professional help. I was quoted $650.00 for one treatment for hubbys grandfather and told it takes more than one to get rid of them. That is absolutely not do-able for my bank account. I have feared this my entire life, considering im terrified of bugs! Please any advice, besides professional extermination, is greatly appreciated.
