If you were a music teacher, would you think it's okay to force your students to school even when they are sick and punish them if they don't?

I am currently sick with the flu right now. I'm scared to go back to school tomorrow because I have a fear that my music director would yell at me and tell me, like he has with other students, "So just because you're sick, you think that gives you an excuse to miss my rehearsals?" (he has a knack for doing that.) I've tried to get my mom to take me and bugged her so much but she said health comes first but she doesn't know how bad it can get. During marching season, I tore a muscle on my foot and he still forced me to march, and when I stepped out because I felt like I was going to collapse, he started talking crap about me to the entire band on this huge speaker we had. I felt like shit and everyone stared at me in disappointment. He didn't even believe me in the beginning when I told him I tore a muscle on my foot until I yelled at him that I did. It's bullshit.
