Do you think parents who smoke weed on a daily basis are bad parents? If said parents claim that it is to help their anxiety/depression would that change how you feel about it?

Depends. If they're not doing around the children and they are still able to properly care for and provide for their children, then no. That's fine.

If it’s in a state that it’s illegal I think they’re making bad choices. Facing charges and jail time when they know they have a child to take care of. Does that make them a bad parent? No, not necessarily. But it does make them irresponsible.

I will not smoke anything around my children but if I am having a high anxiety day I may take an edible. Something low dose and sativa so it doesn’t make me sleepy and I can remain clear headed. It’s better than the lorazepam my doctor prescribes me. However if you’re getting high as shit while attempting to take care of your children, then yes. I think you’re a bad parent.

Weed is still illegal in Maryland but if your caught with a small amount and not distributing it, you only get a citation.. Most states aren’t locking people up for having weed to smoke anymore. That being said, if I wanted to smoke, I would. I know what to do and what not to do/expose around my baby.. Nobody can call you a bad parent for smoking when your a parent, when some parents drink everyday and still care for their kids. It’s about remaining responsible and knowing your limits. With alcohol or weed. Don’t drive with kids while doing either one. Don’t get so fried that your response level is bad.. If you can, wait till kids are asleep, or at least no where near you. Keep all smells, and drugs up and out of reach.. If you don’t feel right doing it, don’t do it. I have an 8 month old and I used to smoke daily before I got preggo 💨 I tried smoking with friends for the first time on New Years while dad was looking after LO aaaand, even though I was barely high, I didn’t feel right when it came time to do normal stuff with my little girl.. So I haven’t done it again since.. Not to say anything is wrong with it or I won’t ever try it again, but I personally might wait until she’s walking good and a little more independent👍🏽 I’m just weird about stuff like babies seeing me high.. or cats🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 But do what you want as long as baby/kids ALWAYS come first.. no drug is worth endangering your seeds🙅🏽‍♀️🙅🏽‍♀️🙅🏽‍♀️💖

Absolutely not. My husband and I are daily smokers.  I did not smoke a single thing when I was pregnant and did not breastfeed. 
We never smoke around the baby obviously. But if it calms us and our baby is super healthy and according to our pediatrician very advanced then I see no harm in it.

As long as its not in the building with baby and, hands/clothes are clean from residue, and one of the parents there is sober to take care of baby, i see no problem! Both me and my SO smoke, him for his back and me for anxiety, insomnia, and back pain. We quit while ttc obviously but im sure he will start back up once baby is conceived and i will some day. Use responsibly and there should be no danger to baby

No. I see weed as being on the same level as alcohol - if you use it responsibly and appropriately, there’s no problem. If not, that’s what makes you a bad parent... any parent who puts anything over the wellbeing of their child is not being the best parent they can be.

My husband is very high strung, he was heavily medicated as a child for ADHD. Now whether I agree with that particular diagnosis or not, his brain does go a mile a minute. He smokes daily (well, now he actually vapes it), but not around the baby or even indoors. Because it’s in a vape pen, you actually can’t smell the strong THC smell of weed, so our son won’t know what his dad is doing and we won’t let him know until he’s much older. I’m not a smoker, and I’m definitely a helicopter mom - if I felt his judgement was impaired he wouldn’t be coming near our child. But it just takes him down from a 10 to an 8. He doesn’t act in any way inebriated.
