Two baby showers?(read description)

So my mom wants to throw me a baby shower and so does my boyfriends mom, 
My boyfriends mom is inviting her friends and people I don't even know to the baby shower while my mom is inviting family, family friends and my friends, I wouldn't be comfortable having so many people all around me at once and i feel like it would be awkward if my family asked "oh who is that?" And I didn't have an answer, Would it be okay to have separate baby showers or would that be greedy?

Most people I know have at least two. I probably will. One that my moms friends will give that involves my parents friends and hometown people, and one with my friends in my current town.

I did two baby showers with my first, one with my family and one with his. It was easier logistics wise. And I’m with you on not wanting lots of people. Although both showers were coed and had 50+ people.

I will be having two baby showers as well. My mother is throwing me a shower and will be inviting family and friends and my SO family that all live near us! And my twin sister will be throwing me a shower where she lives (2hours away from me and my mom, but it's where we are from) and she will be inviting our family that lives there and some of her friends that I am also friends with. 
They thought it would be better that way instead of having to ask so many people to travel 2 hours.
