Delete your own post?

Question

Charley made a really good post about Trump (this is not about Trump) and one of the things that was stated in her post, was that she would delete It if It got out of hand which is very awesome of her (👏👏😊). So I'm stealing her idea for my poll. (hopefully your okay with me doing this, if not, I can delete this).  Do you think it should be the Original Posters responsibility to delete their own post when it gets out of hand?

If there’s one or two commenters getting out of hand, admin should delete the comments. If majority of the people commenting feel attacked, or are saying harmful things about minorities, or something similar I would delete my post personally.

AWH thank you! I think the admins should delete nasty comments, it isn’t fair for a whole post to get removed IF the OP did nothing wrong. 
I stated I would as we don’t have enough good debates but understand where politics goes. So if a person wants to accept the responsibility then it’s up to them. (It’s a low key threat of don’t be dicks to one another or this topic is gone)

I think it’s nice if they do, but not their responsibility. That falls on admin. If I make a post I can’t sit and watch it for the next 24 hours straight to make sure no one is an asshole.

Would I delete a comment that was thriving in drama - to which I live off of? No. 
Would I delete a comment that gave place for bigots to attack users from marginalised users? Yep.

I think that if there are multiple fires in one thread, the thread needs to go. I can admit to having fanned flames and made my own fires in the past, I’m pretty passionate about certain issues as you all can tell. I would say, it’s best to delete the thread, as everyone then gets a chance to chill and walk away. If admin are taking time, OP should take the initiative.

I Don’t understand why it should be deleted... I think it’s important for people to see true colors.. I would want to know what kind of people are debating about him/what he does... kinda gives me insight but I’m not too sure how heated it got 🤔

I don’t think it’s the OP’s responsibility, but it’s an appreciated gesture.  
Good topic by the way!:). I’d delete my post if the majority was a shithole, but under certain circumstances. If it’s just a couple drama lamas going down within replies I feel it’s admin’s job there. HOWEVER if a topic is made and the majority are really awful and racist/bigoted I would remove because at that point I am not helping the communities I’m part of Orr an ally to.

I think there should be an option to lock the thread when it gets too out of control or off topic; and I think that option should be given to the admins/mods.
I wanted to say OP, but then again, we've all seen those posts where OP is in the wrong, and they get too defensive and start attacking commenters.
If there was an option to lock threads, then we would still be able to get information from the original commenters without having to sift through dozens of off topic comments/insults/gifs.

No, I just think people need to get over their sensitive selves and egos and realize this is a freaking fertility app, who cares what others opinions are and if you don't agree with them? Some people take this thing FAR too serious.
