Limited space nursery

My husband and I are staying with my parents so we can save money for a house. So baby will be sleeping in our room until we are able to move out. What are some things we should absolutely get? I've looked into mini cribs because they take up so much less space then a regular size one. We plan on painting the room a gray so we can at least make a corner look like a nursery for him. Suggestions for a smaller rocker/recliner? I know I won't want to have to go to the living room every night to rock and feed while my husband sleeps. He works 13 hours shifts so I don't want to stay in the bed the entire time.
