Modular homes?
Not sure where to post this,
So recently we have been looking into modular homes or a triple wide. We currently live in a nice raised house that we bought in foreclosure so we got a great price, we could easily turn around and sell it for 150K more than we paid. We were discussing moving from outside of town to more rural on some farm land. This is the main reason why we are considering a modular, we don’t need something that can keep its value because we will never resale this house. We talk about a real house but that’s going to cost at least 300K and up depending on how big of a house we build. I really love the idea of just buying a modular and paying it off so we don’t have a loan, but I don’t know how long modular houses last and if in the long run it’s worth it. So anyone who lives in one currently what do you think? Has it lasted? We’re in California so we don’t have hurricanes or tornados to destroy it. There is a risk of flood but being surrounded by fields we could push the water out into the fields to protect the house. I just want to hear from people who actually live in them.
