Experience with lamictal?

I had a bad reaction to Prozac for my anxiety and depression and based on other side effects im having (mild mania as well as BPD symptoms) he put me on lamictal. The lowest dose for Prozac was too much for me and he started me on 12.5 mg of lamictal (lamotrigine) and my headaches have been really bad like on Prozac. Does this go away? I am also on nexplanon implant for birth control and was considering getting off of that and all meds to see if it worked.....just worried about pregnancy with condoms only .
