Trying to Lose Weight


I'm trying to lose weight with my boyfriend. I've gained almost 50lbs due to depression (shows as roughly 2 dress sizes -- from a US size 8 to a size 12). I used to be very fit and athletic, and I'm still very flexible from the yoga and cheerleading I did when I was younger. Can anyone recommend any reasonable exercises for me? I'm trying to slim back down to a size 8 (nothing smaller than a 6), want to tone my legs, lift my butt, and get strong. I'm also trying to get into kickboxing, as most of my strength is in my lower body.

I'm really trying, guys! Also, if you can recommend any meals or recipes that are good for people with TIGHT budgets (no kale and Avocado on organic wheat bread, please), I'd really appreciate it!
