Newborn cried it out

I just let my six week old newborn cry it out. He has been up since about 8pm and he finally went to sleep around 1:15 AM. From 8 PM to 1:15 Am. I have tried everything from changing his diaper, to swaddle him, putting him in his swing, To holding him, and patting his back. I was literally breast feeding him every 15 minutes. Nothing would calm him down. Not even his pacifier. My nipples are really really sore from him sucking on them so much. I feel wrong & so terrible for letting him cry it out the whole 10 minutes. I like to note that he is now fast asleep sleep. I am kind of under the weather and my boyfriend is not here at the moment to help me
