1st OB appt soon! What to ask?!

My first OB appt is coming up in March. I’ll be 8 weeks! I cant wait to speak to the doctor about my little baby and have an ultrasound!! What did you talk to your doctor about at your first visit ? Any questions I should be asking?!

I asked their c section rate, and what their protocol was for labor. Can I have free movement? Eat or drink? Birth in water or in a position not on my back etc. No cutting of the perineum, can I have intermittent monitoring? 
Make a list of what you might want and see how they stand on it. Its good to know if red flags go up early so you can shop around for a provider if you need to 😊

I'll be honest I went with no questions. First appointment is pretty overwhelming. My doctor gave us a folder and they went over everything. So questions kind of pop up as you go. I got my blood pressure taken, weighed, 6 things of blood taken, confirmed my pregnancy and went over the folder. I'd go and soak it all in and do the best you can. Your not alone if you blank and save your questions for appt #2. Good luck

My first OB visit was just paperwork and then she heard the heart rate with the Doppler. Didn’t have an ultrasound until I went to a private studio at 10 weeks. Then with my OB at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan.
