Is owning a gun is a personal or a family choice

Please note that This is not a political debate!!! But if your hubby wants to own a gun and that’s against your faith and believes and you think it could be dangerous to keep it in the house because anyone of the household may go through a very low point in life mentally that they could hurt themselves or their loved ones. Hubby says he won’t keep it in the house and wants to buy it for protection. but I am against the whole idea. Now it came down to: do I have a say in this for the family? or he is free to do whatever he wants and it’s a personal decision? Thoughts?
