C-section or vaginal???

Seven years ago I gave birth to my daughter vaginally, it was a horrible delivery. My doctor let me have 4th° tearing and botched the stitching. I had to go in a year later for a episiotomy repair. It was awful and extremely painful. The tissue after delivery did not heal and turned into be precancerous. I am due in September with our second baby and my doctor is recommending a C-section. Has anyone had a delivery like my previous one? The thought of either delivery scares me to death so I don’t know which to choose. Advice would be helpful!!

I can speak to this because I've had 3 kids: #1 was a level 4 tear with complications, #2 was barely a teeny tiny tear (I didn't even notice, and no issues) and #3 was a c section. I would ABSOLUTELY opt for another level 4 tear over a c section. I've had other surgeries, but the c section recovery was no joke. It was a lot worse than I anticipated and besides getting to skip labor, I hated everything about it.  I had a lot of long term issues. I'm pregnant with #4 and am hoping for a vbac (approved as long as baby turns, she's breech right now).
You may not even tear at all with #2 or very minor, like me. But if someone had a crystal ball and said "you can have another c section or another level 4 tear, make your choice" I'd choose the tear, no question.

I had a C-section and it was great. No pain, didn’t feel a thing, and it was quick. I recovered really well and scar was thin and tiny. I bonded well with baby and am ebf. No issues at all. 
Probably depends on your body and your doctor. But I loved my c-section and plan on getting another.

I had a horrible 1st delivery vaginally and then an amazing delivery vaginally with my second and will deliver vaginally with my 3rd.  I jokingly say I already ruined my vagina why would I want to mess up my stomach as well 😂 I have low placenta this time so almost had to schedule csection which I 100% didn’t want to do.

A 4th degree tear is no reason to have a c section but if your doc is giving you the option, which I’m surprised they are, its to you. I’ve had many patients have great deliveries after a 4th degree. Up to you!

oh my god does tearing hurt?? with my first she was so small I didn't need stitches at all. but reading all this made me want to die.

My friend had the same issue. She said she opted for a c section for her next 2 pregnancies.
