Unschooling?

Question

hi everyone, I’m looking into homeschooling my kiddos (in the future, my oldest just turned two) and I wanted some info about homeschooling in a way that isn’t exactly the same as how a normal school curriculum would be
I was wondering if anyone could share their own experiences or resources about this! Thanks

My mother homeschooled all four of us up until grade nine. She used rod & staff for resources I believe. I had a great experience and wouldn’t trade it for anything. She worked with each of us individually during the day in a non structured routine. She had us in a bunch of homeschooling groups for activities like swimming, skating and gym time with an assortment of sports. What I loved about it was that she worked with us in the ways we needed, I was (and am) a visual kinaesthetic learner, so she used lots of visuals, art based projects and let me get up and leave the table whenever I was feeling bouncy. My brother on the other hand was the complete opposite, she would assign the work for the day for him and he would do it by himself in his own time and she would check it over later. 100% recommend homeschooling if your kids don’t fit the “a type” that the school system wants.
