No Embryo at 7 weeks

I went today to my 1st appointment excited to see my baby. Told my partner to go to work. He can come to the bigger appointments. I should have let him come. After what seemed like an eternity of answering questions, I'm high risk because I am diabetic prior to pregnancy, the doctor finally did the ultrasound. I was looking right at it and I saw it. I saw nothing. There was nothing. She measured my uterus and I am measuring 7 weeks exactly, so my dates are accurate. I did an HCG and it was 55, 474. I am praying my baby is safely hiding. I was devastated all day. Next appointment with the Perionatologist is 4/23. I will be 8 weeks 4 days then. Tge case manager was a little rude when she called to go over this, stating I will miscarry since can't see a fetus. Ma'am I pray to my God and he is the ultimate decision maker.
