Mid cycle bleeding & ttc
So..... here goes! Long post, but lots of context!
I have thought about posting, but have been worried to do it, probably because I am afraid there is something really wrong...
I have had mid cycle bleeding for a while. When I have seen the nurse for my regular Pap tests, they just felt that it was to do with hormones being unbalanced due to being in the pill. All my smears came back clear, as did STD tests, so nothing to be alarmed about, right?
I took a 6 month break from the pill about 18 months ago and the mid cycle bleed stopped, so the hormone imbalance seemed viable.
Fast forward to July 2017. I stop taking the pill and am actively ttc having got married in Vegas to my partner of 12 years. The bleeding does not stop. So I wait for a few months and it gets worse, not better. Everything I have read suggests that it should start to regulate. No such luck!
I went to see my GP, who could see I was quite distressed and so offered to test me. I had a full blood screen, an STD test, and a pelvic exam. All clear. So I was sent for a vaginal ultrasound. All clear.
Next I have been referred to a Gyno who did a visual exam and another set of tests to be sure. Fortunately the day I went I was spotting, so he could see exactly what is happening. Not being able to say what was causing it and that my uterus is not only titled, but wonky, (revealed from the ultra sound) he has referred me for a laparoscopy.
Every doctor or specialist I have seen does not think this has anything to do with my ability to conceive, but when you bleed at 7dpo every month how can I not think that there is something wrong with my ability to conceive?
Hopefully the laparoscopy will identify something that the ultrasound could not detect. Still waiting on a date.
I have this unwavering feeling that I will not be able to conceive and as much as I build myself back up every month and start to be positive again, I just know it will end in disappointment.
I have no symptoms of PCOS or endometriosis or anything like that, but if anyone has had anything similar I would love to hear you experience.
Please no unkind comments, I am already feeling terrible so don’t need anymore ammo to fuel this!
Thanks in advance x
