Dogs sensing labor is close?

I'm 2 days away from being 38 weeks, she has already surpassed the weight that my first daughter was born at, and at my last check up on Thursday, my midwife told me that I'm already dilated at 5cm. So every little pain or cramp I feel, I jump hoping that it's time. Anyways, today my dog has been acting super weird. He has followed me all over the house, is always trying to put his nose in my crotch. When I sit down he'll come over acting all playful like and wanna try and jump on me and almost has the look like hes about to start humping... Whenever I've gone to the bathroom, he stands right outside the door whining and starts hopping around when I come out. So I was just curious if anyone has had their dog act somewhat like this right before they had their baby or if my pups just being weird..
