6 week old face very dry

I called our pediatrician Friday about my baby’s face it looked like eczema to me. She said it sounds like baby acne because it does not go below the nipple line and because it’s raised. And not to put anything on it but warm water. No soap, no lotion nothing. Well I haven’t put anything on it, the redness is actually a little better, but now his face is SUPER dry. I want to put aquaphor on it. Anyone else experience this? I’m going to call the doc back tomorrow, but I’m dying to put aquaphor on it in the mean time 😫
