Was the administrators’ punishment enough?

I read news article where three administrators got caught joking about a sex toy and throwing it at each other at school during school hours. There was one female high school principal, one male high school principal and one male middle school principal involved. Parents were outraged and are asking for them to get fired or demoted. In a 5-4 vote by the school board, the punishment was decided to be internal discipline and that the administrators would not lose their jobs or be demoted.

Do you think this was a severe enough punishment or are people overreacting ?

Do you think in this case, there is a double standard for teachers and students?
