Want to shed some extra fat while pregnant

Hi!

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and have gained some extra fat around my waist and thighs that I would love to be able to reduce before I even give birth, but my main priority is the health of my baby of course.

Has anyone been able to shed fat in the last couple of months of pregnancy and gained almost no extra weight in the third trimester while baby was still growing at a healthy rate?

I’m thinking of trying to achieve this by cutting out all “empty” calories from my diet such as candy and ice cream, but still eating normal healthy meals and snacks, and by exercising for about 30 min every day. Sound realistic?
