childcare behavior help!

i am a teacher in a toddler class (2-2.5years) which has 15 children in it. there are a few 3/4 children that have terrible behavior surpassing the typical terrible twos stereotype. today i had a chikd try to bite me continuosly for 20min, until i took my eyes of him and he finnaly got me on the leg. they spit in my face and laugh when they are moved away from activities due to their behavior. i am constantly being hit and thrown wooden blocks at my face. i am asking what other discipline tactics would you (as a parent/carer) suggest besides moving them away from play and discussing with them why what they did what wrong. the parents seem to take no urgancy in their childs actions and are happy to move past it. these issues have been continuing for a while and are not new.
