Background noise - TV bad?

Maria

So my little one is 5 weeks and for most of the day it’s a series of eating , sleeping and pooping which is to be expected but we are hanging out in the family room and I have the TV on binge watching Netflix throughout the day. Usually comedies, not necessarily violence or screaming all day.

I can across this article that says TV in the background slows learning and language development https://www.babygaga.com/15-things-pediatricians-dont-give-their-newborns/

Obviously something named BabyGaga didn’t seem to be the most scientific so I googled and found other articles. http://www.urbanchildinstitute.org/articles/policy-briefs/infants-toddlers-and-television

What do you all do during the day with your babies? TV? Music? Nothing? Anyone had any language delays with the TV? I’m wondering if I should get headphones since it’s so many hours during the day.
