Contraction questions?!!!! Help

Ok I am 37.5 weeks, 1.5cm and 50% effaced I have horrible period like cramps and I feel like the baby is pushing down really hard on my bladder/vagina. Is that normal? Also why do I feel better when I relieve myself on the toilet and relax i feel heavy pressure is that normal?

You could be in labor. My contractions were really bad period cramps. Not the typical starting around the belly button and wrapping around your back contractions. You feel better while sitting on the toilet because it opens up your hips and pelvis. Whenever you’re lying down your hips and pelvis aren’t opened up anymore. I would start timing the cramps you’re getting to see if they continue and if they do once they get close enough go to L&D.;
