My husband is depressed and it's breaking my heart

M00 • I`m happiest by the sea

He had major foot surgery in January, and during his assigned time off, the company went bust and he was made redundant. He's 48, can't do manual labour, and was in the process of starting a new life in a different country. (He moved to the UK from USA to be with me). The only times he has not worked is now and when his visa didn't allow it. Every day he applies for jobs, and every day he gets nothing back. I've been there. We've all been there. But last night he admitted he is getting depressed. During the day he looks after our daughter, when I get home from work he studies. He's been to job fares. He's been into places for work and talked to people. He's been for interviews. And the only feedback he gets is 'We had someone in house we took for the position instead.' Money is so tight right now. He feels bad that all my money is used for everything. He feels guilty he can't provide for us. And I tell him how much I appreciate what it is he does. And how he and our daughter have this amazing relationship and he's taught her so much. But he's depressed. And I don't know what to do.
