What do you dread most doing when your babies grow up?

My kids going to school and not coming home because of school shootings and kidnappings. I dread that now, every single day, and my kids are 3, 2, and 6 months.

I feel responsibility to guide her with a strong moral compass. I hope she won’t have to deal with my family’s mental health problems. I also really hope to steer her away from addiction and drug experimentation because I’m certain that would be a bad path given our family history. It’s also so prevalent these days. If I don’t succeed, I may feel really guilty.

My kids not getting good grades or having ambition. Like that scares the shit out of me. My husbands nieces and nephews are like this and their parents couldn’t care less. They don’t go to school, don’t take it seriously at all.

The teenage years because I was a pretty good teen up until I met my boys dad, then I got into some trouble (nothing too bad though honestly, just rebellious for me). But their dad as a teenager (even before he met me) would sneak out and get drunk with his friends and got into a lot of trouble. My oldest is already too much like his dad so I worry about that a ton and just hope I do the right things so that if they do want to get in a bit of trouble (as most teens do) it won’t actually be that bad.

Making sure they’re not having sex and fooling around, doing stupid things... want them to be safe, smart, and responsible. Make good choices with a good head on their shoulders, even if I disagree with them

Dealing with my son bringing girls home and having to worry about him getting a girl pregnant. Having to worry about him getting bullied in school or what if he ends up being the bully. Having to worry about if he’s making the right choices, if he’s doing drugs or getting into trouble. I love having a boy because I’m glad I am clear (for now at least) of having to do the sex and period talk haha but I worry about so many other things I’ll need to deal with having a boy. He’s only one and I am already thinking about it all haha.
