Fighting Through Crippling Depression: I’m so LUCKY! 🍀

Amber • If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?

I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. Lately, it’s been really bad because I’ve been diagnosed with Crohn’s and my doctor has been unable to get it into remission. She put me on immunosuppressants as a last ditch effort before going to a biologic. It’s essentially chemotherapy and has made me extremely ill. On top of it, my doctor wants to RAISE my dose (pending my labs come back as expected). On top of it all, there’s been a lot of day to day stress with my oldest daughter (she’s been having behavioral issues which require at least 2 therapy/youth assistance appointments a week).

Well today I was looking through all of my pictures to make a Fathers Day gift for my husband. In doing so, I realized how truly blessed I am. He’s held my hand and guided me through the darkest times. He’s been by my side through all of the health problems. He’s cried right along with me while I cried on his shoulder. He’s bathed me when I’ve been unable/unmotivated. He is the most amazing husband and father. Lately, he’s taken over most of the household chores and does what he can after the long, laboring hours at work. He seems to think he’s failing because I’m having a difficult time, but I think he’s freaking amazing!! ❤️
