Women/Men who marry jerks.

I've read a few stories here and have known women who will be distraught because their spouce has said or done something really mean. For example I had a friend who I was riding in the car with and she's asking her husband a question about where to eat for dinner. Apparently he disn't like that question because he turned to her looked her square in the face and said shut the fuck up and stop being a fucking bitch. I pulled her to the side later and asked if she was being abused because I was honestly worried and she laughs and says no he's like that all the time but he would never hit me. I asked her if she was okay with her HUSBAND talking to her like that and she laughs again and says oh yeah I knew he was an asshole before I married him. My question is this WHY WOULD YOU MARRY AN ASSHOLE IF YOU KNOW THEY'RE AN ASSHOLE BEFORE HAND? Why would anyone sign up for a lifetime of that? Her answer was that he was hot and had a big penis and was apparently great in bed. I would rather marry a dude with a micropenis who suffered from E. D. than to marry someone who verbally, emotionally, or mebtally abused me. also for refference I am married I've been married for a few years and still don't understand it. I thought it was just her but I've heard tons and tons of stories similar to this from other women.
