To take his name or not to

Any opinions on taking last names when married vs keeping yours vs husband taking yours??? My SO has a Belgian last name that’s hard to pronounce and difficult to spell. On the other hand, my last name is very strong and simple to spell, but also not common. He has joked about taking my last name when we marry, but has been hesitant when we’ve seriously talked about it. He’s also offended that I wouldn’t take his name and says his fam would be disappointed, but it’s not like they follow any of their Belgian traditions. Also what about my background???What do you think? Any way I can persuade him more??? I would hate for us to have different last names but do women still have to follow this masculine “tradition?”
