Rebound questions

Hi ladies! I have been through a relationship and still love the guy. We went through shit and he wanted time alone to rethink it all. He is with someone new now and i know it’s none of my business so no need to throw shade, but he says he loves me and wants a future with me. He says he needs time because he is still hurt over what happened, but that he sees a future with me, but wants to try with this new girl? I want him to be happy, and i do wish to be with him, but it kinda sounds like a rebound to me. It’s happened fast and i was his first everything. They have been together for less than two months and he and i ended it in like april, so thoughts?
