Hand foot mouth 😩 ?!? Help

My son was just diagnosed today. I have a 6 week old too 😱😱😱 I've never had it. Someone give me some insight please?! Dr told me just to wash my hands and not let him breath on me. I disinfected the house and kinda have him just chillin in his room. Are chances high I'll get it no matter what just taking care of him? 😭😭 I'm so paranoid I need some positive feedback or negative I guess just need to know

My son had it and he didn’t pass it to any of us in the household

My boy had it as well while he was still breast feeding. I just made sure I kept everything clean and was constantly washing my hands. No one else in my family caught it.

I work in child care and have been in contact with HFM a couple of times and never contracted it. Adults are less susceptible to it unless they are pregnant. Just make sure to keep up with the disinfecting!

ugh I caught it before I even knew what he had. it was worse for me then him for him it was like a cold for me it was 103 fever with horrible palm and foot rash that itched then burned like hell. my kids and ex husband never got it just me and the baby. ughhh

Depends on if you had it before. there are like 16 different strains though. my kids got it about two months ago, (they were 6 and 7), and I got it a week later. 😩
