What would you do if you found out that your child’s kindergarten teacher was fired for saying things like “you’re worthless, you’re ugly,” to your child everyday for a year?

A teacher was recently let go in the region where I live for verbally abusing children in her classroom. So I’m just curious to see how you would react to this.

sit down and talk to my child, find out if they were bullied or talked down to. if they were so damage control and make sure my child knows the teacher is a piece of crap and that my child is amazing. then I'll have a talk with the school and find out exactly what happened and explain if/how my child was affected and what they plan on doing for the children who were put through this, what they plan on doing to the teacher besides just firing them

When my daughter started pre k she was so excited and talked about it for months before. She is very outgoing and was ok going to places with other people with out me so I thought school would be so easy. The first 2 days where great, she was really excited and loved it but by the 3rd day she started hating it and cried every time I would drop her off. She had never done that but I just thought it was normal. She would literally run out of the classroom if she noticed I walked out. About 2 weeks later it still wasnt getting better but her teacher got fired and replaced. 
Turns out she was bribing the kids with candy and when a kid would be only slightly out of line she would say things like “your bad, your not getting candy today, you don’t deserve it” and very stern about it. And she would get mad over any little thing. No wonder my kid hates school! Granted she was a perfect student. Well they got a new teacher and within 2 days she loved school and it was never an issue again. I was just so relieved they caught her doing it sooner rather then later and that they replaced her. If it was any longer I would have let the school have it.

Harassment is illegal, not sure how a law suit would hold up since the school fired them. Of course I'd be upset. I would be glad she's gone and I would talk to my child and explain how some people can be and that this is not how people, especially adults, should talk. I'd also remind them none of what she said is true and tell them everything great about them.. also reminding them everyday how proud I am of them and how special they are too everyone around them.

I want to know why a majority of ppl would ignore that???? Children’s minds are sponges you can’t protect everything going in their head but definitely address things
