toddler shoes

Alena

my 18 month old boy needs sandals and last month we took him to striderite to get fitted and the woman came back with 2 pairs of sandals for him. the first pair didn't fit and the second pair she was able to put on him they are strap on and they open tall when really pulled. when my husband and I try to get the sandals on him we have a very hard time doing so and it seems to hurt him as well. his last pair was a 6xw in toddlers this time the woman measured him a 7 which I just can't believe he went from an extra wide to a standard size within a little over 3 months his feet hasn't even slimmed. so I'm looking for a new pair of shoes for him preferably slip on and breathable because his feet get extremely sweaty and ones that can slide on a foot that is very thick and or very tall on top. I would like a 7 wide because his feet seem too wide for just a 7. the problem is there are not many shoe places around me to get his feet measured again and when I look online there are barely any options and I'm not sure what to trust online. anyone have a similar problem that was resolved? I need help with this, I cant take him anywhere without shoes. hes a runner too so his shoes need to be extra comfortable. we can slide his feet in his shoes only if we powder them first but even then they will seem like they are uncomfortable and forget about putting socks inside of them they get waaaaayyyy too tight. the length is fine but everything else is horrible. any parent had to get special shoes for their extra wide foot baby? I have no idea where to start looking. also should I do a wide or stick with an extra wide considering his last pair was an xw?
