Going back to school after having your son or daughter ?

Question

Hey there mama's.. I was wondering how long did you wait to go back to school after having your son/daughter?. Was it hard to manage or deal with?... in looking into going back to school, but online schooling. I was just curious, please feel free to also drop a comment . I like your thoughts on being a single mama and managing school. :)

I gave birth may 22nd, a month early. I started back for the summer semester June 4th. It was one of the toughest things I’ve ever done in my life. But I did it, and continuing to do so with a 15week old and a 3.5 year old by myself.

With my first son I went back to school when he was about 5 months. I was going back to get my masters and I found that online was actually a lot more tedious than going so I opted for traditional classes. It was definitely hard I won't lie but my mom was supportive and watched him when I went to night classes. Granted the school I attended offered one class a week for 4 hours, 9 week sessions. I took 3 classes at a time so I could finish earlier. It is doable. I had myself and my son on a pretty strict schedule for two years that I did not deviate from.

I had my son the end of Jan 2015 and went back to school on campus September ‘15. At first it was tough cause I would pick him up from daycare right after class instead of doing homework...but towards the end it got easier and I slowly felt more comfortable leaving him long enough to do homework. The only downside were days he couldn’t go and I had to miss class(playing catch up). But it was worth it.

I’m a single mother and work full time while attending school online. It’s really been hard to manage. I try to spread myself to thin. For the first year I worked hard but now I’m needing a break. My child is 2 and it’s hard while trying to potty train. This age my child is more trying to explore last year I could get more things done it’s like the older the harder. I’m still trying but I’m going to give myself more breaks.
