My younger brother and sister both hit me often, mostly unprovoked. I'm curious at what point does it stop being a sibling rivalry and physical and mental abuse?

Answer

Well, first of all, if your younger siblings are hitting you, your parents need to do something about that. It’s their responsibility right now to teach them that hitting is unacceptable. If they are not doing that, you need to talk to your parents about it. Most kids grow out of that phase, as long as their parents are adamant that hitting is not allowed. If your siblings are very young, then it may just be a developmental phase for them. Otherwise, If your parents are allowing it and refuse to put a stop to it, then perhaps you’d want to ask a school counselor for help on what to do. For now, express to your brothers and sisters that hitting is not OK and it hurts you.
