Should special ops...

La

Should special ops soldiers be sent in to rescue Americans who go to different countries for things like humanitarian work? Not asking if it falls under the category of their job description...I’m asking if we should send them in and place them in danger to rescue those who choose to go to dangerous countries? Or should that person know and understand the risks BEFORE going? I came across this story from 2013...and it was quite interesting and amazing. Jessica Buchanan was rescued by Seal Team 6 after being kidnapped in Somalia—one of the most dangerous places in the world. Luckily everyone was okay during this rescue, but one of the SEALS was killed during a rescue op in 2012 in which the team retrieved an American doctor that was being held hostage in Afghanistan.

Personally, I think it’s great we have people who can do this if need be, but I don’t think Americans should depend on it or come to expect the government to step in to save you I something goes south. I think you should know and understand the risks associated with going to that country before you go.
