How come some women say to wait more than a week to have raw sex after starting Bc ?

The nurse told me I can start having sex after the first week of birth control, why don some suggest we wait a month?

It depends on the birth control, some become effective after a week and others can even be effective right away

Birth control doesn’t begin to work the minute you start taking it. Your body has to adjust and get used to the extra hormones/medicine. When I got my implant, my OBGYN said I would be able to have sex within a week, but she suggested I wait at least a month if I wanted to have sex without a condom.

I didn’t but I had just come off another form of Bc and it was still probably in my system.

Because the pill keeps you from ovulating & thins out the walls of your uterus so the egg can’t attach on the chance that you do. For most pills, it’s 2 weeks.
